Here's an Easter craft for you that will take about three
to four days to make, but it's worth it!

You'll need:

For one pinata, one 2.5 lb. package of Celluclay
paper mache mix (find at craft store)
one, strong, oval, latex balloon
poster paints or spray paint
paint brushes or sponge shapes

1.  Underinflate the balloon to an oval, egg shape.

2. Mix only HALF of the Celluclay according to
instructions inside package -
(I know, WHY did they put the instructions INSIDE the
messy stuff?!!!).  You may want to cover your nose and mouth
with a surgical mask or bandana, while mixing Celluclay.

3.  Now the fun begins!  Roll up your sleeves, and get your
hands into the wonderful, ooziness of the wet Celluclay!
Cover the balloon with the Celluclay, on one side.

4.  Prop the balloon, so it doesn't roll over and make a flat
spot in the Celluclay, and leave to dry for a good 24 hours.

5.  After 24 hours, mix the other half of the Celluclay,
according to instructions (that you've now taped to the
refrigerator!).

6.  Cover the other side of the balloon with Celluclay,
so that almost the entire balloon is covered with it.
The only place you leave uncovered is the stem of the
balloon and an area around it about 1-1/2 inches in
diameter.

7.  Leave the wet side of the balloon up, so that Celluclay can
dry for about 24 hours.

8.  After 24 hours, you examine your pinata and see if the
Celluclay looks truly dry yet.  If not, let it dry another
24 hours.  Then, take a needle, and pop the balloon, through
the hole in the Celluclay you left, while holding onto the stem
of the balloon.

9.  Gently pull all of the balloon out of your pinata and
discard.

10.  Now, you are ready to paint your Easter egg pinata!

11.  You can either paint it with paint brushes and poster
paint, or paint it with spray paint - definitely requires
adult supervision, newspaper to cover painting area,
and lots of ventilation!!!  Let it dry for 24 hours.

12.  Fill your new Easter egg pinata with the candy or
small toys of your choice!  Do you really want to break it
open after all that hard work and patience? : )

Happy Easter!!!!!!!
