Hi,
I’ve always wanted to write this observation down, so here it is for posterity.
I remember when my daughter was a new infant. One day, I laid her down in her little, wooden crib by the kitchen window. I had hung, on the window, interesting pictures that I’d drawn for her to look at. Then, I proceeded to walk to the stove and cook dinner for my family.
While I was making dinner, she started fussing. I could see her from the stove, and I knew that she was all right. I was right in the middle of cooking something, and I couldn’t stop at that moment and go comfort her. But, she was fine, so I hurried to finish up what I was making. She, on the other hand, started to cry; she couldn’t see Mommy. My child’s volume kept increasing. I was hurrying, and I could see her and knew she was all right and safe. To her, none of that mattered; I wasn’t in her sight, so I wasn’t there. To her, she was all alone. My child didn’t understand that I was right there – just out of her sight. I was working on something for her daddy and her brother and sister. She didn’t know that or understand it. I was coming just as soon as I could to pick her up and cradle her in my arms.
Sometimes, we wonder where God is. “I can’t see Him. Where is He? He left me all alone! Why would He DO that to me?! FATHER! WHERE ARE YOU???!”
It’s all right! God won’t leave us alone. He has His own eternal plan, and it’s unfolding all around us. At this very moment, something very wonderful is happening! He’s planning wonderful things for your life – right now! Your brothers and sisters need Him to, but the AWESOME thing about God is that He can be everywhere at once! -Unlike me – when I was cooking dinner and my daughter started to cry for me. I had to hurry and finish what I was doing at the moment and go pick up my little girl. Our Heavenly Father is listening to every, single thing we say to Him, and He really does care about us and about how we think and feel. God is there; we just can’t see Him right now. But, if we look around us, we can see Him working in our lives, in other’s lives, even in the miracles of nature that we so very often take for granted.
Stop, look and listen to Him today. Great, awesome things are about to happen and are happening all around us! And, remember, some day we will see Him with these physical eyes.
29“Immediately after the tribulation of those days: The sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not shed its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the celestial powers will be shaken.
30“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.”
