My fav.'s from God's Holy Word, the Bible:
"Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." -Matthew 7:7-8
"For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift not from works, so that no one can boast." -Ephesians 2:8-9
"A Christian will find it cheaper to pardon than to resent. Forgiveness saves the expense of anger, the cost of hatred, the waste of spirits."

Hailed by Henry James as "the finest piece of imaginative writing yet put forth in the country," Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter reaches to our nation's historical and moral roots for the material of great tragedy. Set in an early New England colony, this novel shows the terrible impact a single, passionate act has on the lives of three members of the community: the defiant Hester Prynne; the fiery, tortured Reverened Dimmesdale; and the obsessed, vengeful Chillingworth. With this book, Hawthorne became the first American novelist to forge from our Puritan heritage a universal classic, a masterful exploration of humanity's unending struggle with sin, guilt and pride.
The Scarlet Letter is the story of Hester Prynne, who tormented by guilt and the ostracization of her neighbors, refuses to reveal the identity of the father of her child--the man with whom she committed adultery. Hawthorne mixes Puritanism with the birth of Romanticism as he examines sin, guilt, vengeance, and redemption.
Progeny Press Study Guides provide teachers, parents, and students with literary analysis based upon the foundation of the Bible. Examining well-written literature in relation to biblical standards, students will develop and refine how they deal with man's philosophies while learning about the craft of writing. Progeny Press Study Guides deal with literature as works of art and philosophy as they explain and use literary terms; deal with plot construction; dig into character studies; and bring attention to themes and ideas the author has crafted.
Easy-to-use lessons include vocabulary, comprehension, analysis and critical thinking exercises, questions on related Biblical principles, activities, and a complete answer key. Middle & High School guides take approximately from 8 to 10 weeks to complete. 56 reproducible pages, paperback. Grades 9-12.
The Scarlet Letter is designed for use with Literature for Christian Schools. Besides what is found in "The Author" and "The Novel," additional references to literary aspects of this work are found in the chapter introductions and discussion questions. Some of the literary aspects, such as point of view and multiple explanations, are relevant to other chapters as well. Two to five discussion questions are provided for each chapter. Some of these will help you determine the students' literal understanding of the novel, but many of them encourage students to draw conclusions and to think reflectively about what they are reading.
"I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence.
Two roads diverged in a wood and I
I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference."
-Robert Frost
Dear Reader,
God wants and loves you. He won't mind if you talk to Him today. You don't have to use fancy words. Just speak to Him like you would to another human being. I challenge you to take the road "less traveled by." God bless you richly in Jesus Christ's Name.
Look what I earned! I wanted to make sure I knew all there was to know about HTML. ;o) I'm not done yet, either. I'm still rewriting this page.

This is my own story I've written just for fun. It's copyright 2004 until eternity. ;o)
Outside, the wind was angrily whipping rain against the house. She looked out the window and barely made out the bent shapes of trees in the darkness.
The house was still and quiet - too quiet. She knew she shouldn't have read from Jurassic Park alone at night. The early summer storm only reminded her of the menacing storm in the book she'd just put down. She heard the dog jump up and bang on the back door.
She went to the door and opened it for her black lab. It wasn't there. Turning, she saw the dog softly snoring in its kennel. Her uneasiness increased.
She quickly and quietly closed the door and made sure it was locked. Suddenly, she jumped, as the plastic, motion-detecting frog croaked. She tip-toed to the window by the front porch, where the frog was, and peeked out the blind. The hair on the back of her neck raised; nothing was on the porch to make the frog croak: no prowling cat, no wandering dog - nothing.....
A chill ran down her spine; this was just too creepy. No, she decided she was getting carried away with the mood of her book. She made herself a cup of hot chocolate and snuggled on the couch to read some more.
Hearing a crash on the back patio, she jumped up. Flipping the lights off, she crept to the back window to peek outside. Flipping on the patio light, she saw nothing but an overturned bucket that had been left outside on the patio table. She flipped off the outside light and turned, in the darkness, to head for the lightswitch across the room.
As she was turning, two glowing, red eyes peered into the darkness of the room. She screamed.
With great alarm, her husband raced down the stairs and took her his arms. "What happened? What's wrong?" he panted.
"I saw," she gasped, "I saw two, glowing red eyes right outside the window. I, I had gone to the door to let the dog in. Only, only she was already asleep in her kennel!"

Have you ever tried to catch a snowflake on your hand and examine it before it melted? I know I have, and they melt very quickly. I found a great site, on the web, that's all about snowflakes, courtesy of CalTech University. Snowcrystals.com. They have photos of real, natural snowflakes, and they're GORGEOUS!!! How could anyone not believe in the Creator after they see those photos?
Hello, I'm a very cautious person in general, but I've finally joined my very first affilliate program. The company is Christianbooks.com. It's a web store that I've ordered from repeatedly, so I do know that they're a good one. You can feel safe ordering from them. They have a wide selection, including educational products and books, cd's, dvd's. Christianbooks.com is a good web store to find products at a good price, and they didn't pay me to say all of this; it's just true. :o)

instructions as to how to live your life while we're here, on Earth? Wouldn't
you want to find this book at any cost? Such a book has been written. It's
called the Holy Bible. In it, is everything the Creator of heaven and earth
